POST-BROW TATTOO CARE
Everyone heals differently, which means it may not be perfect the first session. Please be patient as it is normal to need two or more sessions to achieve the desired results. Your brows should start peeling after the third day and finish around the seventh day. Sometimes it will take a bit longer to fully heal due to dry or sensitive skin, but not sooner than the third day. If there is any redness or swelling it will dissipate within 24 hours. It is normal to feel soreness and warmth to your brow area during the healing process, almost like sunburn. Failure to follow after care can result in needing a minor touch up appointment at your own expense.
FOR THE NEXT 7-10 DAYS:
Please wait the total duration of this time as the results of the healing process will adapt accordingly to the conditions of your lifestyle.
-
Keep the area clean by washing with freshly washed hands and mild soap. Do not use a washcloth or sponge to remove soap. Simply wash soap off with water and blot dry immediately with a clean paper towel. Using dirty towels can cause infection or irritation. Do not use acne cleansers, astringents or anti-aging products. DO NO RUB OR SCRUB BROWS.
-
Make sure the skin underneath brow hairs is dry. Pat dry with tissue as needed. Applying ointment onto damp skin may increase risk of bacteria forming and cause infection.
-
Use a QTIP to apply a thin layer of ointment throughout the span of the day. A light “chapstick” amount of ointment to coat your brows should be enough. Avoid a “lipgloss” amount as it may be too much and will cause poor healing.
-
Ointment should also be applied before and after taking a shower and/or washing your face. Use a QTIP and refrain from touching your brows with your hands. AVOID THE 5 - S's
SWIM - Avoid recreational water activities such as saunas, STEAM, swimming.
SWEAT - Please avoid exercise. The increased blood circulation and sweating may cause your brows to heal prematurely.
SHOWER - Refrain from taking a shower for 24 hrs post appointment. Continue to face washing is recommended.
SLEEP - Avoid side sleeping or sleeping facedown into pillow. The friction of materials rubbing onto the face will cause brows to heal prematurely.
SUN - Please limit sun exposure and direct sunlight. Please do not apply sunscreen directly onto healing brows.
WAIT + FALL IN LOVE
-
Wait for the 7-10 days of healing to pass before placing any judgement. This may be the hardest part of the process. The top layers of the skin will shed revealing a soft more powdered finish. In general, expect 25% less in size and 40% less in color density.
-
Do not scrub, rub or pick at the epithelial crust that forms. Allow it to flake off naturally up to the 7 days of healing. After the 10 days, you may use ointment (on a Q-tip) and rub off in a circular motion.
BE ADVISED
-
Allergic Reaction or Infection: It is rare, but there is a chance of allergic reaction or infection. If there are any type of irritation, rash, or bumps please stop using the ointment. Allow the skin to dry out. At anytime that there is a concern with your health please visit your physician for further information.
ONCE HEALED
-
Maintenance appointment is suggested every 18 months on average.
-
Daily hot steam showers feels amazing but unfortunately can cause sensitive, dehydrated skin that is easily inflamed. Be advised as constant steam may pull out pigment and require more maintenance.
-
An active lifestyle and oily skin may be more prone to premature fading and brows will require more maintenance.
