POST-GREEN PEEL CARE
FIRST 24 HOURS
After the GREEN PEEL, it's important to avoid applying anything other than what was put on your skin when you left GLOW. This is because your skin and pores are thoroughly cleansed, making it more susceptible to irritation. Taking a break from makeup will also allow the skin to breathe while going through the healing peeling stage.
DO NOT EXFOLIATE
Do not use any form of exfoliation 7 DAYS POST PEELING (7 days after all peeling has stopped).
ZERO MAKEUP DURING PEELING
After the GREEN PEEL, it's important to avoid applying anything other than what was put on your skin when you left GLOW. This is because your skin and pores are thoroughly cleansed, making it more susceptible to irritation. Taking a break from makeup will also allow the skin to breathe while going through the healing peeling stage.
SKIP THE GYM + SAUNA
Avoiding the gym and sauna after the GREEN PEEL before the peeling appointment is also a must! For the FIRST 72 HOURS it's important to not do anything which would heat the internal body temperature ie. EXERCISING, SAUNA, HOT SHOWERS, HUMID TEMPERATURES THAT WILL CAUSE SWEATING.
STAY OUT OF THE SUN
After receiving the GREEN PEEL, it's important to be aware that your skin is more susceptible to the harmful effects of UVA and UVB rays. To protect your newly refreshed skin, avoid prolonged sun exposure and make sure to apply and reapply sunscreen throughout the day. This is a great habit to incorporate into your daily skincare routine for long-term anti-aging benefits. Remember, prevention is key, and sunscreen is an effective way to prevent damage before it occurs.
USE A SILK PILLOWCASE
An often overlooked tip is using a silk pillowcase. Not only is it good for the health of your hair, but it’s amazing for your skin too, especially if you suffer from acne. Silk fibers absorb less moisture and bacteria than your typical cotton, creating a much cleaner sleeping environment. Silk also offers less skin friction, helping prevent irritation and damage.
NO PICKING OR PEELING
Great skin is a result of consistent care and patience. DON NOT PICK OR PEEL any skin, let them naturally shed or trim with sanitized facial hair scissors. Picking or peeling can lead to scarring or introducing harmful bacteria to the skin and can cause post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIE), especially after the GREEN PEEL. Trust the process and give your skin the time it needs to heal.
LISTEN TO YOUR SKIN THERAPIST
To maintain freshly deeply exfoliated skin, your skin therapist will recommend a personalized skincare routine specifically curated for your skin and your skin concerns and goals. This will take the guesswork out of finding the right at-home routine and will put you on track to achieving the skin you desire. Also, any recommendations future treatments you may need or a recommended series to help you achieve your skin goals. A lot of work happens in the treatment room, but the work you do at home will prolong and extend beyond the benefits of just all facial treatments alone.
BE GENTLE
It's important to handle your skin with care after the GREEN PEEL. To prevent any irritation, it's recommended to avoid using retin-a , retinol, scrubs, and exfoliating acids 7 DAYS POST PEELING (7 days after all peeling has stopped). Instead, choose gentle and nourishing products that will provide hydration and protection to your skin. Your skin therapist will have made recommendations on what you should be using at home once you're finished with the peeling stage.
